This has delivered just what it said it would though. I am 5’4” and the tread is plenty long enough for my stride. The belt is JUST wide enough for me.
The tread has no spring or give like a traditional treadmill so it isn’t something I would personally run on. It is perfect for walking though. It’s not overly loud, no squeaking just the sound of the belt as you walk.
The timer and speed don’t seem to be 100% accurate but I track on my watch so it’s not a deal breaker.
It’s very easy to move and the 360 castor wheels make moving it from room to room very easy. I do wish it was just a bit more stable when it stands up. I haven’t had it tip over yet but it does seem inevitable.
For the price I am very happy with this. It’s only been a week but my active time is up and I am feeling good!
It has smooth wheels and a hand bar underneath that make sliding it into storage very easy. It's heavy, but I'd say it's a manageable weight for the average person to move around.
As far as downsides go, mine are pretty situation-specific. I now live in an apartment with thick carpet and it can feel a bit spongy to walk on at lower speeds. I didn't notice this on hardwood previously. The volume on the buttons is also pretty loud. Like...my boyfriend thought it was the smoke alarm loud. Those aren't deal breakers for me, but definitely something to consider.
The treadmill comes with belt oil and a small Allen key for maintenance, which has been easy enough once you get the hang of it. YouTube has some great videos for reference if you need help.
Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for the best of both worlds. It's a great machine and has held up through countless walks and runs!
Edited to add photo!
The good - This treadmill is nice and thin and is ideal for smaller homes. As others have noted, it is unobtrusive and easy to store. The motor is nice and quiet. The screwable knobs at the side allow you to fold the handrails up with ease. Other treadmills require a remote to make them work and this one has the controls built into the handrail so you can use it without the remote if it should somehow get lost. Overall I really do like this treadmill with the exception of the flimsy platform.
FYC customer support is stellar, they sent me a new treadmill free of charge and live up their hassle free Money Back Guarantee. The treadmill did come slightly damaged though. One of the knobs was broken and one of the the metal teeth that lock the handrail in was slightly damaged as well but I guess I can live with it.
Overall a decent treadmill for the price. Very nice to have the 2 in 1 feature that allows this to be used under the desk. Just make sure not to run on it too much as most likely it will break. I hope that the FYC team can address this issue in a future iteration. Once this is fixed I can rate this product 5 stars.
Pros:
- Stores easily
- Setup easy
Cons:
- Loud beep sound when turning on the treadmill and while increasing/decreasing the speed (found that if I hold down the + or - that it will increase speed or decrease speed without having me click multiple times)
- Doesn’t have a water bottle holder however I have a tall enough chair I place beside the treadmill, easier to snag a drink without having to stop the tread mill.
- Doesn’t have a pause button.
And it fits easily under my standing desk, so I've got my own treadmill desk for work!
This one is perfect for our multi purpose room. It's lightweight and fits under our airhockey table.
I walk 3 to 5 miles a day on it
Things to note: the handlebar isn't the most stable. It can be a bit wobbly even when tightened down. Not a dealbreaker for me, but just something to be aware of. No water bottle holder, which is really just a minor inconvenience. Also, the walking pad is small, especially compared to those in commercial gyms (which is what I'm accustomed to). I am 5' with short legs, and I don't think I have a large stride, but I have to be mindful about taking smaller strides on this once I get up to speed. If you're used to a larger treadmill or you're tall, you will have an adjustment period. The lack of siderails can also be something to get used to if you're used to commercial gym treadmills. I sometimes have minor balance issues, so this was something I needed to adjust a little bit to. Again, just something to be mindful of, but not a dealbreaker. Lastly, the power cord isn't very long, maybe 3-4 feet or so. I will be anxious to see how this treadmill performs and holds up over time.
This obviously isn't going to be the same as a commercial or much more expensive treadmill, but it is a good substitute for the gym or outdoor walking, especially if you have limited space or simply want something space-saving that can be stored easily.
