I sit for work (Uber), and sit at home most of the time. I used to be way more active, but I'm a gamer, and kind of lazy. When I was riding my mountain bike I was out on the trails 15 miles a day every day before work. That was a year ago. Actually, a little over a year ago. I plan to make up for lost time by riding 30 miles a day every day when I start riding again. If I'm being perfectly honest I don't use the indoor bike like I did the outdoor bike. Like you can see in the picture I need to move stuff out of the ay to use stuff, our apartment is tiny. The treadmill has an ottoman on it that should be in the living room, but one of my cats loves sitting on it in the window. I think I need to find a better solution for her so I can use my treadmill every day without having to move that all the time.
It's pretty basic on features, but does things like track calories, distance, hear rate, etc. It has a cell phone holder that even in my phone's case my S22 Ultra fits enough to stay. If I could improve upon it at all I'd add bluetooth speakers, but that's not a big deal since it's INSIDE. The tension is good, and it's quiet when you use it. For the price it's a great buy.
Updated:
After a few days riding on the bike, the squeaky noise disappeared on its own. Now it's smooth and quiet.
I'm 6 foot 145lbs
I am 6’ and seat height is good. I am 1 notch from the top for almost full extension of my legs which is where I want it. Top notch I am stretching at full extension.
Safety pin does stay put as it has a tiny notch that pops in and out to pull out and keep in position.
A mild clicking now and then in pedal, and by mild I mean mild. Probably won’t even notice unless ts dead quiet or you are trying to hear it, but any sounds you won’t notice it. I have tv or music going while riding and don’t hear it
Short video to show how quiet it is and display.
The fit is perfect for my 5’3” frame with the seat in the lowest position. Once pedaling I found it to be very silent and the resistance options great and easy to switch around from less to higher. It folds easily for moving.
The handle bar position is perfect and comfortable.
*If I were to change anything it would be the seat. I find the wide flat surface a bit uncomfortable. Maybe a more conforming and softer padding would help. This is not a deal breaker tho. I am pleased with it overall and would recommend it to someone who may be looking for an affordable and compact exercise bike
It rides very smoothly and quietly. The tension nob is easy to click around and the screen works as expected so far. I was nervous about the seat being comfortable on longer rides since it's so large, I'm still unsure about that. For shorter rides it seems fine though. The "bottle holder" is a cell phone or small clicker holder but I'm just a happy to have that. It sort of grazes my legs so I might take it off but that's not a big deal since I'm at home as a can just move a table over for my water.
Overall, I'm very pleasantly surprised for the price. So far I would absolutely recommend it!
Update: 1 move & 1 and a half years later the bike is still great! It has a bit of a squeak these days, but it seems like nothing a little wd-40 can't fix. Also it turns out the cell phone holder I mentioned doesn't bother me at all, it's great to have.
This took about an hour to set up. We live in a townhouse and set it up downstairs, then my boyfriend carried it upstairs (it weighs about 50lbs).
I was able to set it up in a corner measuring 36” x 36” and both my boyfriend and myself can get into the corner and use it without our workout being hindered by a lack of space. I’m 5’3” and he’s 5’10” for reference. We can adjust it after each of us uses it without too much difficulty.
Everything runs continuously. So if you rode 5 miles at 20 minutes and burned 250 calories on Tuesday morning, it’s going to say 5 miles/20min/250 calories when you get back on next time, whether that’s Tuesday night or Saturday night. I don’t know if unplugging the cord changes it and I haven’t tried yet.
The only thing I don’t like is the water bottle holder. It’s more shaped for a flask. My thighs also catch on it, so I cover it with a towel to prevent it digging into my legs. I wish I’d left it off, but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
The bike is pretty quiet. My huffing and puffing is actually louder than the sound of the wheel.
Only thing that throws me off is the seat even though its soft it still hurts my a**but a sweat will definitely come out of this & it moves alot on hardwood so u would probably have to put a mat under it so it wouldn't move ........so far definitely worth the buy
Once it was completed, we decided to try it out, and we were surprised how stable and quiet it was. Also, this monitors pretty much everything you see in the high end machines (speeds, calories, heartbeat, etc). This was a great product for the price and I highly recommend it.
Pros: 1) It's magnetic so there's no noise, while riding. 2) The wheel is encased so pets and children can't access it. 3) The seat is sooo comfortable because it's wider than most bikes. 4) Thanks to wheels, it's easy to fold and move for storage. 5) The upright position makes it easier to ride.
Cons: 1) Assembly isn't too difficult, but I recommend watching a video. The written instructions were a bit confusing and poorly written. I suggest getting help, if you've never assembled equipment.
2) I'm almost 5'3" and reach the paddles with the seat set on the lowest setting. It may be difficult to reach the peddles if you're shorter than 5'3".
3) The instructions explain the position to choose when installing the seat. It's based on height, which may be an issue if multiple people of varying heights share the bike.
Overall: I'm very happy with the performance and price point. I've used the bike for 3 weeks and I'm finally seeing weight loss results.
I found that there was a random clicking sound that came from the pedal/flywheel area so I just removed the plastic cover around that area (see pictures). Without the plastic cover the bike is now extremely quiet at all times. One of the pedals also seemed to have a loose piece inside and was making a sound while in use, but Exerpeutic was very nice and quickly replaced it with another pedal which has worked fine.
There is a small "holder" on the frame of the bike which I assume is for a TV remote or cell phone. It would be nice if they made this a little larger so it could accommodate a water bottle, but it is not a big deal and I simply keep my water on a nearby bookcase while using the bike.
As you can see in the pictures I added an iPad mount to the bike since there isn't a built in shelf or anything. I highly recommend doing this as the mount actually gives you more viewing options than a fixed shelf would. Now I can position the iPad right in front of me and watch movies and shows while biking. The mounts are very inexpensive and this bike plus a mount is a great option compared to other bikes that might have a built in shelf but that cost a lot more money.
Highly recommended!
The product itself is very sturdy and great quality.
1) Setup instructions. Thank you Exerpeutic!! This sat for 2 to 3 days as I was dreading assembly but the provided instructions, pictures and written directions could not have been easier. Parts were clearly labeled and divided by step and assembly was a breeze, I can't say enough about that and you know what I mean if you've assembled a lot of purchases yourself.
2) Stability and strength. Bike is very stable and quiet. I am 5'9" and 179 lbs and it handles me with no problems, shaking or noise of any kind.
3) Usage. I just got off this morning and rode 7 miles and burned about 340 calories. It let's you know this as well as distance per trip, overall distance of all trips, heart rate and speed. You can either push the button to cycle through each reading manually and leave it on the one you want or put it on scan and it cycles to the next one on about 3 second intervals. There is also a dial knob to change the resistance, it varies from 1 to 8 and I have not been above 5 yet for any extended period of time.
This was a great purchase and one I am glad I made.
It arrived very very well packed. It was delivered next to our garage, so I dragged it in there, opened it up, and took pieces out one by one into the living room to set it up. (I took lots of photos because I fully expected not to like the bike and to have to repack it.) Exerpeutic did a fantastic job with sealing and labeling every individual nut and screw that would be needed--every company ought to do it that way. Very easy to put together, particularly with a video I found online.
Very pleased with this purchase, and I expect it to last many years.
Being new to cycling, this was the perfect bike for a great workout. It’s nearly silent and conveniently packed into a closet when not in use. But I almost never packed it away. I used this bike every morning for 30-45 minutes and it helped me to lose 30 pounds.
While it’s obviously not for your advanced spin class type folk, this bike is amazing for elderly, someone looking to mindlessly workout while watching tv (instead of just sitting), steadily peddling while working, and beginners (such as myself). Being overweight and new to cycling, this bike gave me a hell of a good workout. It tracks your total miles cycled, so it’s fun to challenge yourself.
I’ve used the bike for over a year now and it was my gateway into cycling. I have not had a single issue with the bike in any capacity in that time, with nearly daily use. I’m now upgrading to the fancy bike that has live classes so I can up my spin game. But I’ll never forget this bike and the new passion it gave me. All because I thought... cycling seems easy enough to stick to.
PROS:
-easy to assemble
-whisper silent when in use
-giant soft seat cushion
-accurate display (HR, calories burned, etc)
-super light - so easy to move. the wheels are placed a little far forward but it’s easy to lift so no worries
-easy to fold up and then to put back out for use (awesomely sized for apartment living)
-soft handlebars (great for leaning forward on)
-massive variance in difficulty due to resistance levels
CONS:
-a little tricky for short people - i’m 5’1 and with the seat completely down and the bike on the shortest setting it was difficult for me to get used to using. I bought chunky sneakers from walmart to give me an added boost until I got used to sitting farther forward on the seat. my husband is 5’6 and uses the bike comfortably. my father is 6’1 and also can fit on it comfortably.
-console dies quickly - i’ve used this bike for at least an hour every day since I bought it in January. within the first two days I had to replace the batteries. again, a couple days later, needed to replace them. I think I did this three times before I stopped wasting my money on batteries - I use it with a dead console and track my stats on my apple watch. exerpeutic did send a free replacement console very quickly, but I haven’t had the chance to install it yet and see if this one lasts longer.
-I don’t like the weird little metal storage thing that came with it. we put it on when doing the assembly, but immediately took it off after it grated on the inside of both mine and my husband’s thighs.
-the bike lacks storage. even with the little metal thing we only would’ve been able to keep the tv remote on the bike at any time. we fixed this by picking up a $5 detachable bike basket from walmart. it looks silly, but works perfectly for holding my water, book, phone, or whatever else i’m entertaining myself with while using it.
overall - 5/5 stars. great value for the money. I dont think i’ve ever made an amazon purchase that i’m so happy with!
Using it feels solid and it's nicely compact. We're also amazed at how quiet it is. So far, so good. This feels like I got a lot of bike without a lot of money.
The instructions can seem a bit intimidating at first but it was actually super easy to build and I was able to do it alone.
It’s very sturdy and easily adjustable. I’m 5’3 and 180lbs and it’s doesnt move at all, even when I’m peddling at a fast pace!
It’s incredibly quiet too! Like so quiet!
It has 8 intensity levels and I’ve only gone up to level 4. I was impressed by how hard they get tho! I wasn’t expecting something so simple to achieve such a high level of resistance.
The computer does seem to be alittle off. The time works but the calorie count is way off. Which isn’t a huge deal, I just used a calorie calculator to figure out my actual calories burned.
It folds up and down really easy, but is a bit heavy and cumbersome for my frame. It’s almost as tall as me so it can be alittle tough to move around but that’s to be expected since I am so short.
Overall thought, this bike has lived up to every expectation I had and more. All the reviews I read were pretty spot on too.
All of which turned out to be unneeded. Even with two knees that need imminently replacing (i.e I can't bend them, or bend down), I easily put this bike together myself. The box is very heavy, so I opened it in the entry, and took my time. The instructions are (mostly) very clear (such a nice surprise) and easy to follow.
ALL THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO PUT THIS BIKE TOGETHER ARE INCLUDED! Parts, tools, and supplies are all clearly labeled. I only needed a pair of kitchen scissors to cut the straps holding the box closed, and break into the hard-plastic sealed package of tools, nuts, and bolts.
Even taking my time, and multiple breaks, it took me less than an hour from start to finish. I didn't put the toe clips on the pedals or attach the ridiculous phone holder.
I then wheeled the completed bike easily to where I wanted it. Including up a few steps, which was a little tricky.
The bike takes up very little room and is SILENT during use--I'd read that in the reviews, but didn't believe it until I experienced it myself. I use it while watching tv, (or reading). It doesn't bother me, or the rest of the family. I'm preparing for double total knee replacement, and will also use this afterwards to recover. The tension is easy to adjust and appropriate for a range of fitness levels.
The only concern/caveat I have, is that it's a little tricky for me to climb on and off the bike, because of the high X in the center. I find it easiest to mount from the back.
I'm very, surprisingly, pleased with this purchase. The cost was SO much more reasonable than I expected to have to pay for an exercise bike. I HIGHLY recommend.
Very disappointed as the bike had amazing reviews but this one I received has manufacturing flaws! The safety pin holes doesn’t line up thus unable to use it due to safety reasons. Also some rusting but I don’t consider it a problem, intact I won’t even bother with it if isn’t due to the safety issue. Thank god Amazon has good customer service, they ordered me a replacement and arranged ups pickup for the this unusable bike. But I wasted time trying to assemble it and wasting more time waiting for the replacement, and then reassemble it again. I will come back to re-edit the review if the replacement is working. Otherwise this will be a solid negative star review!
It’s portable as it has wheels (no pun intended)
One downside is that the seat adjustment at the lowest setting is still little tall for my 5’2 wife( hope she does not read this review), to go any lower is possible but for that you need to open a screw and then redo if you want any higher so that is not very practical to do on daily basis.
Note: I am not a biker and hated the stationary biking as a form of an exercise but doing it as it tightens the core and makes you sweat 😓
The unit doesn't take up much space at all, and obviously even less when it's folded up. This is nice because I can keep it right in the living room where its used regularly.
The magnetic resistance is perfect for me. It actually challenges me and leaves a couple more levels for me to go up. I will write more and a couple of months
UPDATE 4/4/19: Still love it. Works perfectly with no problems. Definitely a good buy!
One other thing I'd like to point out is the heart rate monitor, while a lot of machine are not accurate, i tested the handle bar heart rate monitor alongside of my chest strap which is about as accurate as you can get. The handle bar heart rate monitor was within 5BPM of my chest strap consistently, which is a pretty awesome plus I was not expecting out of this. The price is amazing. the quality is great. I am 5'9" and it extends out far enough for me and my husband who is 6'. I put it together fairly quickly, the instructions were easy to follow. i think it took me maybe 20 minutes to construct it
Pros: QUIET!!! Silent i should say. Folds up easily, rolls in and out of where you need to store it. Has a phone/mp3 holder which is an important feature that might be overlooked by other machines. Heart rate monitor is accurate. it can extend out for taller people.
The seat is very wide and comfortable. and the pedals are nice and wide too. I can sit comfortably on it without too much "saddle sore" that i got from my old bike.
The resistance has a wide range from no resistance at all to very hard to pedal. so i think it would be good for all levels of physical ability.
Cons: No water bottle holder. I ended up buying a water bottle cage from the dollar store, drilling in two holes in the front to attach it. You can buy ones that dont need to be screwed in i think too. in the pictures you can see the cage on the front of the bike
The calories burned is not very accurate. it overestimates by a lot, but it has no way of knowing your height, weight, and fitness level to determine that so i can't expect too much i guess.
when you stop the bike long enough for the display to dissapear, it resets the workout. If i have to stop to get my kid a drink or anything, it starts the time and everything over. There should be a way to keep it unless you want to erase it. My old bike had that feature.
This isn't really a con, its more of a personal preference but it might matter to you. The pedals are out in front of your body a bit. In a normal upright bike the pedals are almost directly below the seat. this is kind of in the middle of an upright and recumbent bike. This actually might be a good thing for people with lower back and neck pain. It might also be the reason i dont experience the "saddle sore", i notice my butt doesn't hurt as much on this bike as my old one. I think the wide cushion also helps with that too.
As soon I finished the assembly, I start using it while wahtching tv, it's so much better than sitting on my backside on the couch and eating snacks!
My plan is to start slow and build my own strength before adding more resistance and time. Such a great exercise bike for a great price!
And I do feel my mood is lifted while was riding it, and afterward I feel more energy than I usually do.
My only complaint is that it's actually not built for shorter person. I'm 5'4", but the chair is already at the lowest point and I need to sit toward the front in order to have the full range of motions. I didn't wear shoes though. Maybe next time with sneakers would be better.
After 3 minutes of testing it out with the resistance set to 5 (out of 8), I could feel the burn in my upper thighs and the heart rate monitor was reading perfectly.
For someone who prefers to work out privately, this was the perfect buy to start my own home gym. I plan to come down stairs each morning to hop on this and again in the evening.
The convenience alone is a motivator! This is a must buy. You won't be disappointed.
Bikes are not usually my go-to exercise equipment because they give me a sore butt and crotch when I push myself, and, sometimes, even when I don't. However, this bike doesn't feel the same to use as a regular bike or the standard exercise bike you would find at the gym. The pedals are further forward and the seat is wider, and I actually find it to be more comfortable. I am still able to get my heart rate up and work my legs just as well as other bikes while sitting fully back on the seat. I have not noticed any aches or pains indicating the positioning is problematic, but I have noticed considerably less pain caused by the seat than I usually experience using exercise bikes.
It is quiet, smooth, tracks everything I want to track, has appropriate resistance, and still works great six months later. I am very happy with my purchase!
Some installation is required but its fairly straight forward. Most of the important bits are already connected so you only have to install the stand, pedals, and computer. Its fairly simple and I did it myself in under 30 mins.
The computer measures a variety of things including distance, calories burned, heart rate and more. You can easily toggle between the various modes via the button on the computer.
The bike is fairly comfortable to ride. The seat has a couple different adjustments so it should be able to fit people of various heights. It also has an adjustment for resistance level which goes from very easy to fairly difficult.
The bike is foldable so you can store it easily but its fairly compact so you can also leave it out and it won't take too much space. Check out the pictures I have it at the corner of the room and it doesn't really get in the way of anything.
I also installed a tablet mount on mine so I could put an Ipad on the bike so I would have something to watch while i bike. This is definitely a nice mod because having something to watch makes the time pass by way faster. I used a tablet mount for the backseat of the car incase anyone is interesting in doing the same type of thing.
Overall a nice exercise bike that I would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for one.
It was EXTREMELY easy to put together and was very well packed in the box. ALL the washers and screws, plus smaller parts and tools were there. The instructions were very clear and no problem to follow.
I am a very tall woman (5'11") with a 34 inch inseam, but that is no problem for this bike. In fact, I ended up having to lower the seat a notch or two. My only problem is a bad hip and knee and it's a little hard for me to get onto it, but that can't be helped.
This bike is amazingly sturdy and VERY, VERY quiet. I didn't even have to turn the volume up on my TV, as I've had to do with other stationary bikes in the past.
All in all, I highly recommend this exercycle. Initially, it can't be beat for the price. I've only had it a short while, but will report again if any issues arise.
• Excellent packaging though wishe they had left it at my doorstep. I hauled it up 3 flights of stairs and the box was really HEAVY to be lugged up the stairs but I could do it
• Took me one hour to assemble, the kit is well made and had everything to assemble with good simple comprehensive instructions
• The bike itself has such fantastic compact footprint
• The bike rides like a dream, smooth, effortless, no jarring or undue strain on knees while pedaling, comfy seat. I returned the gel cushion I bought coz I think the original seat is better
• I can work a sweat in 20 minutes
• Perfect thing to do while watching tv or listening to music
• If u are looking for a minimal impact on joints, smooth, economical yet sturdy heavy duty bike I think this is it !
I have provided pictures for the packaging, the seat, the odometer and the footprint of the bike. Hope it helps :)
Very smooth, sturdy and whisper quiet. I rode it for 10 minutes on level 2 to test it out (out of 8) and worked up a sweat. I am looking forward to using it.
I live in a tiny San Francisco apartment and it fold up to take up very little space. Yaaay!
I'm 5'1" and have no problems reaching the pedals comfortably.
